You Will Need: A permanent marker, a fire brick, the silver tubes, flux, medium silver solder, a cotter pin, steel tweezers, brass tweezers, a blowtorch, fresh water, pickle, a pickling unit, copper tweezers.
Once pickled, you can solder the other tubes onto the opposite sides of the frames.
This time though, it’s really important that your second tube is soldered exactly opposite the first one. To mark the point where you want to solder the second tube place it on a straight line on a piece of paper, lining up the central line on the paper with the centre of the soldered tube. Make sure the coin is level and use a permanent marker to draw a line on the side of the frame that lines up with the line on the paper. There is a template in the downloads section that you can use.
Once all the frames are marked, solder them one at a time. Place the frame onto your fire brick and place the tube up against the permanent marker line. Paint the join and the inside of the frame with flux and place one piece of medium silver solder onto the tube at the join where it meets the frame. Place a cotter pin up against the tube to stop it from moving during soldering, and solder in the same way as you did for the first tube, just being mindful not to heat up the original tube join too much.
Once the solder has run, turn off your blowtorch, and use your brass tweezers to quench it in fresh water and pop it in the pickle.
Repeat with the other frames
