Part 2 - The Elements
You Will Need: A jewellers saw, 2/0 saw blades, a flat file, sanding sticks or sanding sponges, a white polishing pad
Once your pieces are fully pickled, use your jewellers saw to remove the excess back plate, sawing as close as you can to the edge without accidentally sawing the walls of your frame.
Remove any remaining evidence of the back plate using a flat file. Follow the curve as you go until the walls of the frame are completely flat and you can’t see where the frame ends and the back plate begins.
Use your sanding sticks or sanding sponges to remove any file marks from the sides and back of the frame. Work your way from the coarsest grit to the finest to bring each of the frames up to a shine, finishing each one with your white polishing pad.
